So after&lt;br /&gt;stuffing ourselves with a huge load of fish'n'chips, we started our&lt;br /&gt;little road trip throuh the more, uhm, rural Australia. Just to find&lt;br /&gt;ourselved welcomed warmly by Lucas' family with a beautiful view over&lt;br /&gt;the bay in Albany at night. Breakfast till 5pm, at least, the creative crowd or the people who wanna look like they're part of it, and the leftover urban tribes who haven't yet moved away completely. The album consists of material that Alan Bishop taped off the radio on a trip to Cambodia last year, chopped up and rearranged into pieces he has given titles like "Rebel Guitars in Strange Dialect" and "The Shiny Radio in a Blind Man's Wallet." Some of the songs Mr. Bishop excerpts are Cambodian pop from the 70's; others are the remixes favored by Phnom Penh's FM radio stations, with drum machines and synthesizers grafted onto older recordings. One is a cover of "El Condor Pasa," by Simon and Garfunkel, itself an adaptation of a Peruvian folk melody.
